Autumn Pics, Picasa and more
I hope everyone is having a good time taking pictures. We were happy to welcome Capt. Ken Clark from the Berea Police Dept. at our last meeting who spoke to those attending and among other information, advised us to be aware when photographing government or “infrastructure” (water sources, railway, bridges, etc) items, that we may be visited by officers wanting to know why we are there. This is not necessarily because a law has been broken, but as an answer to a concerned caller in the age of 9/11 (AAaarrgghh!!!). Also keep cameras pointed away from the army depot (Nothing to see here, men in black, national security, and all that).
I would love to see lots of Fall photos over the next 6 weeks. Capture the wonderful colors of changing leaves as well as anything else Autumn speaks to you. Send your best pics to japjxp@gmail.com and I will post them with your name.
To those of you who have taken photos at various festivals, Body recall family day, Spoonbread Festival, Equestrian games, ect., please send the best of those to japjxp@gmail.com and I will get them posted to the blog and facebook pages asap.
Finally, for those interested in Picasa (free photo hosting and editing), I will be holding a class in Berea on Thursday at 10AM. Please call 986-7112 to sign up.

Another meeting concluded. Our next meeting is in Berea on Friday, September 17th.
This month our theme is movement. As before, the topic is deliberately wide open to interpretation. Freeze motion if you choose, open your shutter to convey motion, choose a subject known for motion cars, horses, etc. Be creative.
This Camera Club is open to anyone in Madison and its surrounding counties.
Submit up to 5 photos of Movement. Enjoy the fairs, car shows, and festivals coming around this month. Have fun!

Animal Photos / Fireworks Photos
Some really nice pics have already been submitted with hopefully many more to come.
Fortunately noone has tried to combine the two subject (animals with fireworks), as the ASPCA and PETA would not have been amused.

Mayday Mayday
Could April have been any busier? May is nearly upon us and the next Camera Club meeting in Berea will be on Friday, May 21st. Thanks again to Bob Douglas for heading April's meeting as I was hopelessly stuck between Bowling Green and Richmond until nearly 6PM. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing everyones submissions for "spring photos". Form last meetings concensus, the decision has been made to make this months submissions focus (pardon the pun) on "depth of field". Depth of field can be used to draw attention to a particular part of the photography when one element is in sharp focus and another is only softly focus or blurred out entirely. Be prepared to play with your Aperature settings on your camera. Just like last month, email me your best (up to 5) at japjxp@gmail.com. I will post them for the world to see.

I am very excited to have completed the 1st ever Madison County Public Library Camera club meeting. I have been all but tearing my hair out trying to decide how to begin. I didn't know if I would be confronted with 5 aspiring professionals or a room of 50 new shutterbugs cardboard wedding cameras in hand. I made the decision to wing it.
This Camera Club is open to anyone in Madison and its surrounding counties.
Our first "assignment" is to submit up to 5 photos of SPRING. I expect to see Madison County's landscape change a lot in the coming weeks. The birds will be out, flowers will bloom, etc. (You get the idea).
Below are the rules for submission:
1. The images must be your own (of course)
2. email as attachments to japjxp@gmail.com
3. There is no rule number 3
